The top-notch Swiss player Belinda Bencic is back in her form and has broken the ceiling by performing exceptionally well in the fourth round of BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells 2019 against fifth-ranked Karolina Pliskova. Bencic defeated Czech player Pliskova in 2 hours 16 minutes by a margin of 6-3, 4-6, 6-3. Bencic will next play her semi-final against three times Grand Slam champion Angelique Kerber who is looking for a maiden title in Indian Wells 2019 at California. Earlier, in the tournament, Belinda has defeated World No.1 player from Japan Naomi Osaka with a margin of 6-3, 6-1 in just 66 minutes of action while Germany’s Kerber won 7-6 (7/3), 6-3 against seven-time Grand Slam Champion Venus Williams. Though, Williams gave a tough fight to her but still couldn’t make it happen. Following the defeat, Venus Williams will be out of top-40 of WTA rankings since she had been defending semi-final’s points from 2018.

“I’m trying not to think who is on the other side of the court. When you’re confident you can just trust your instincts and you don’t have to think about it at all. I’m definitely playing how I feel it, and it’s going so well I’m not planning on changing that,” the star player said on cracking another opponent from the list of top 10 in the world.

The 22-year-old Bencic was the teenager star who won the position of number seven in a world but unfortunately her career was stalled after back and wrist injuries. But the Swiss Veteran fought back and thrashed four top 10 players in Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships held last month. Bencic thrashed another top-notch player Serena Williams in Toronto four years back.
