One of the greatest tennis player of all-time Novak Djokovic has made it to the quarterfinal round of ongoing French Open tournament 2019 after sweeping Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany in the straight sets on Monday. The 32-year-old Serbian great edge past the German player with a margin of 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 in one hour and 33 minutes of action. With this wonderful victory, Djokovic became the first tennis player who straightly reached to the quarterfinals in Paris 10 times and that too in a row. The Serbian player has been levelled up with Spaniard Nadal after reaching to quarterfinals in French Open 2019 13th time.

The Serb will next lock the horns either with fifth-seeded Alexander Zverev or with ninth-seeded Italian player Fabio Fognini.

Earlier, the 15-time Grand Slam winner started his Roland Garros 2019 journey after defeating Hubert Hurkacz of Poland in the very first round of the ongoing season. The Serb edge past the Polish player with the margin of Β 6-4, 6-2, 6-2. With this win, he also marked his 22nd straight Grand Slam win in his tennis career so far. Apart from Djokovic, arch-rivals Roger Federer and World No. 2 Rafael Nadal has also qualified for the final-eight member round.

Notably, Kei Nishikori of Japan also kept his winning hopes alive in the game as he defeated Benoit Paire of France to book his seat in the quarterfinals. The Japanese left the Frenchman behind with the 6-2, 6-7 (8), 6-2, 7-6 (8), 7-5 clinical victory. It took a total of three hours and 44 minutes for the Japanese star to seal the game against Paire. After this struggling victory, the 29-year-old Nishikori moved one more step closer to his maiden Grand Slam trophy.

Nishikori will next battle with World No. 2 Rafael Nadal of Spain in the quarterfinal round. Nadal reached to this stage in the French Open 2019 after defeating Β Juan Ignacio Londero of Argentina with the margin of 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 in Paris on June 2, 2019.
