Fasten your seat belts and get ready for the highly-entertaining grand finale drama of US Open 2019 between two absolute superstars Rafael Nadal and Daniil Medvedev at Arthur Ashe Stadium. World No. 2 Rafael Nadal secured his position in the final showdown after defeating Italian star Matteo Berrettini with a scoreline of 7-6 (8/6), 6-4, 6-1 on Friday. The 33-year-old Spaniard will now hustle for his fourth US Open title in the 27th career Grand Slam final on Sunday. In this round also Nadal got off an excellent start as he didn’t struggle much to score against Berrettini. However, the Italian gave neck-to-neck competition to the Spanish legend but at the end of the day, Nadal remained invincible in the tournament. Now, he is only one step away from his fourth lustrous US Open title and for this, he has to battle with fifth-seeded Daniil Medvedev who paved his way to the finals after beating 78th-ranked Grigor Dimitrov. Both Nadal and Medvedev will face each other in the finals on Sunday at Flushing Meadows.

The Russian legend Daniil Medvedev toppled Bulgarian professional Dimitrov with the 7-6 (7/5), 6-4, 6-3 win in ongoing US Open semi-finals. With this impressive victory, Medvedev became the first Russian ever in the history of tennis who reached the Grand Slam Final after Marat Safin who won the 2005 Australian Open title.

The tennis great Nadal expressed his thoughts after an overwhelming victory by saying, “it means a lot to be back where I am today after some tough moments at the beginning of the season. He’s one of the more solid players on tour”. Further, he also added, “he’s making steps forward every single week. He’s the player that is playing better on tour this summer”.

The three-time US Open champion Rafael Nadal made it to the semifinals after beating Argentine stalwart Diego Schwartzman by 6-4, 7-5, 6-2 scoreline. Nadal got off an excellent start against the World No. 21 player as he eased past the talented opponent in the first set. Though the second set was a bit tricky for Spaniard but he crossed that round also. On the other hand, Russian star Daniil Medvedev booked his seat in the semifinals after thrashing World No. 24 Stan Wawrinka with the close margin of 7-6(8-6), 6-3, 3-6, 6-1.
